We use "Pueblo Leather," meticulously crafted using the traditional Vacchetta method from carefully selected shoulder parts of female cows over two years old, sourced from the globally renowned tanner "Badalassi Carlo S.r.l." based in Tuscany, Italy.
The Vacchetta method is a traditional Italian technique boasting over 1000 years of history. Without using any chemicals, highly pure neatsfoot oil is slowly added to cowhide that has been thoroughly tanned with vegetable tannins. This time- and effort-intensive process imbues the leather with a moist texture and profound character.
Furthermore, by applying a unique brushing process with sandpaper and brass brushes to the surface of the oil-rich leather, it initially achieves a smooth, matte texture. With use, the color deepens and transforms into a lustrous and beautiful sheen.
Oleic acid, the main component of neatsfoot oil distributed throughout the leather, is a natural moisturizing ingredient also abundant in human sebum. It naturally blends with the leather, protecting it from drying out and excessive moisture loss, thus keeping it soft and supple for a long time.
